Code of Conduct

The NWCSC is committed to creating a fun, safe and inclusive environment for everyone, regardless of race, gender, age, sexual orientation, national origin, ability, physical appearance, or religion. By attending, you agree to uphold the following principles:

1. Respect & Boundaries
Treat everyone with courtesy on and off the dance floor. Respect personal space and styling choices. If someone asks you to stop something, adjust immediately. A dance request can be accepted or declined without explanation — both are fine. If you collide with someone, acknowledge it and ensure everyone is alright. Alcohol use must be responsible. Impaired judgement is not an excuse for disrespect.

2. Inclusivity & Behaviour
The NWCSC welcomes dancers of all ages, levels, identities and backgrounds. Harassment, discrimination, intimidation, threats or unwanted physical contact are not acceptable. Bullying, verbal aggression or repeated boundary-pushing will not be tolerated. Keep your dancing safe for crowded floors: control your movements and stay aware of the space around you.

3. House & Venue Rules
Wear your event wristband visibly at all times. The venue does not allow food or beverages in any area of the hotel except your own room. Follow venue policies, including any rules about substances on the dance floor. Ask permission before posting recognisable photos or videos of others.

4. Health & Safety
Please do not attend classes or socials if you feel unwell. Use hygiene stations if provided. Take care of yourself and others — hydrate, rest and stay aware of your surroundings.

5. Reporting & Support
If you experience or witness behaviour that concerns you, please speak to any Westie Gala staff member (they will be clearly identifiable). We will take your concerns seriously and handle them respectfully and as confidentially as possible.

6. Consequences
The NWCSC staff may take any action necessary to maintain a safe environment if required, including:
- Verbal and or written warnings where it's deemed necessary
- Removal from classes, competitions or social dancing
- Contacting venue security or proper authorities
- Ban from the event without refund

7. Participation Agreement
By attending NWCSC, you acknowledge that dancing involves physical activity and participate voluntarily, assuming responsibility for your own health and safety.

If you have any constructive feedback on how we can develop our Code of Conduct and with further measures make you feel more safe, please feel free to contact us via Facebook messenger.
